Dziwnów marinas
In 2013, two yacht ports were opened. One is located between the sandy peninsula and the passenger harbor. This seasonal marina hosts numerous summer outdoor events, including "Cinema on Deckchairs," where tourists can enjoy free movie screenings under the starry sky. The second, a year-round marina, is situated between the drawbridge and the fishing port. The newest marina on the West Pomeranian Sailing Route accommodates 60 yachts. It features an on-site café and a bonus—Dziwnów offers a fuel station for watercraft.
Sightseeing cruises
From the harbor near the hotel, regular sightseeing cruises take place during the summer season, offering trips on the Baltic Sea, Szczecin Lagoon, and to Kamień Pomorski. Three excursion boats are available: Korsarz and Róża Weneda sail out to sea, while Victoria cruises across Kamieński Lagoon to Kamień Pomorski. During the season, the boats operate daily, with evening cruises being particularly attractive as they allow passengers to admire the sunset. For thrill-seekers, high-speed RIB boat trips into the sea are also available, offering adrenaline and unforgettable experiences.
Dziwnów promenade
This scenic walking route stretches along the dune tops throughout the town and parallel to the sandy beach. Nearby, visitors can enjoy pine forests, parks, and marked cycling trails, popular among tourists who appreciate active recreation. It is an excellent place for strolling with a pram or for older visitors. The promenade was renovated in 2012, with benches, streetlights, toilets, and showers placed at regular intervals.
Sports Stars Festival
Since 2002, the Avenue of Sports Stars has been located on Reymont Street in Dziwnów. It features replicas of medals belonging to famous athletes. Sports stars honored here include Apoloniusz Tajner, Otylia Jędrzejczak, Wojciech Fortuna, Dariusz Michalczewski, and Kazimierz Górski. The festival also includes musical concerts, comedy performances, and the Miss Sport pageant. It’s one of the rare occasions where you might play football with Jerzy Dudek or get a golf lesson from Mariusz Czerkawski.
Fishing port
Dziwnów boasts a genuine fishing port, a rarity in the region. It enchants visitors with its atmosphere, offering a chance to observe fishermen at work—particularly in spring during the herring season—and to purchase fresh fish, adding a taste of authentic seaside holidays. The region’s strong connection to the sea is showcased through events like Fisherman’s Day in Dziwnów. The festival’s highlight is a parade of boats and fishing vessels on the river, where fishermen cast nets and demonstrate their craft. It’s a unique opportunity for tourists, who once a year can ride on a fishing boat and partake in a seafood feast prepared using traditional recipes right on the port’s quay.
Drawbridge
One of Dziwnów’s most notable tourist attractions is its drawbridge, among the few of its kind in Europe. Raising the nearly 40-ton bridge span takes just a few minutes and is a spectacular sight. During the summer, the bridge is raised every even hour, while off-season it operates as needed. From the bridge, visitors can enjoy a stunning view of the river.
A Paradise for anglers
In Dziwnów, fishing is possible in the sea, the Dziwna Strait, Kamieński Lagoon, and Martwa Dziwna Lake. One of the favorite spots for anglers is where the Dziwna flows into the Baltic Sea. Although commonly referred to as a river, the Dziwna is actually a strait, which explains its unusual behavior. Connecting the sea with Kamieński Lagoon, its current occasionally reverses, flowing back into the lagoon and bringing salty seawater with it. This phenomenon is caused by southern winds that raise the sea level, overpowering the calm, shallow waters of the lagoon and the strait. For anglers, this creates an exciting opportunity to catch not just freshwater species like roach or perch but also saltwater fish like flounder or cod.
Martwa Dziwna Lake
Martwa Dziwna Lake is the former outlet of the Dziwna Strait, which became naturally silted. In 1900, the river's course was altered, a new channel was excavated, and the old outlet was filled in, creating a charming, elongated lake. It is a true oasis of tranquility amidst the bustle of summer crowds. The road to the lake crosses the drawbridge; take the first right onto a forest path leading to the shore.
The lake is situated on a bird migration route, hosting both rare species that nest here permanently and migratory birds during spring and autumn. Along the western shore runs a forest trail for cycling and hiking, connecting Dziwnów with Międzywodzie. Martwa Dziwna Lake is a protected ecological area, offering visitors an opportunity to immerse themselves in unspoiled nature.
Woliński National Park
The western part of Dziwnów lies on Wolin Island, home to Woliński National Park—considered the most beautiful section of Poland's coastline. It is the country’s first maritime park, featuring stunning high cliffs, beech forests, and a rich variety of flora and fauna. One of the most popular attractions for tourists is the Bison Show Enclosure (Zagroda Pokazowa Żubrów), which is also home to deer, roe deer, wild boars, and white-tailed eagles.
Visitors should not miss the park's scenic viewpoints, offering spectacular panoramas of both the Polish and German coastlines. The most notable are Gosań Hill and Kawcza Góra. The park's trails also lead to picturesque lakes, the most famous being the turquoise-colored Lake Turkusowe near Wapnica.
Windsurfing school
Located just 3 km from the hotel, on the shores of Lake Wrzosowskie, right behind the church in Dziwnówek, is a windsurfing school. The school offers classes in windsurfing and kitesurfing for both beginners and advanced learners. Visitors can also rent water equipment, such as kayaks and pedal boats.
The lake's conditions are particularly favorable for learners of both windsurfing and kitesurfing. Up to 400 meters from the shore, the crystal-clear water with a sandy bottom is no deeper than knee height, creating ideal conditions for lessons and practice.
Baltic Dinosaur Park
Just 5 km from Dziwnów lies a dinosaur park, an excellent entertainment destination for children and a rich source of knowledge. Visitors are transported back to prehistoric times through fossils and mineral exhibits.
The park also features a Safari Park, home to kangaroos, llamas, fallow deer, ponies, alpacas, and many other animals. Additional attractions include inflatable slides, quads, two rope parks, a track train, an obstacle-filled playground, and bungee jumping.
Cycling trails
Cycling enthusiasts will enjoy the superb bike trails spanning the region, from Świnoujście to Kołobrzeg.
One of the most popular routes is a 27 km trail running along the Dziwna Strait, from Międzywodzie to Unin. Along the way, you pass orchards, fields, meadows, and villages beautifully integrated into the western bank’s landscape. Another favored trail leads from Dziwnów through Dziwnówek to Kamień Pomorski.
Historic Kamień Pomorski
The pride of the city is its well-preserved medieval urban layout, featuring remnants of city walls and the 14th-century Wolin Gate. Within this historic setting stands the magnificent late Romanesque-early Gothic Cathedral of St. John the Baptist, the oldest sacred architectural monument in Western Pomerania.
Another highlight of the city is the archaeological site in its northeastern part, which preserves traces of a fortified settlement that existed from the 11th to 13th centuries.
Throughout the season, Kamień Pomorski hosts organ concerts as part of the International Festival of Organ and Chamber Music.
Ruins of the Church in Trzęsacz
Located 16 km northwest of Dziwnów, Trzęsacz is home to the remnants of a historic church built between the 14th and 15th centuries. What remains today is a fragment of its southern wall. The church was originally constructed about 2 km from the coastline, but by 1750, the distance had decreased to just 58 meters.
By 1868, the cliff was only 1 meter away, and services were still held in the church. The final service took place on March 2, 1874. For safety reasons, the church was closed, and its furnishings were relocated—some to the Cathedral in Kamień Pomorski, others to the historic church in Rewal, and some pieces to museums in Szczecin and Berlin.
Many legends surround the ruins, the most famous being the story of two separated lovers. After death, one becomes the sea waves, returning to unite with the other, buried in the cemetery next to the church.
Golf courses
Just 8 km east of Dziwnów in Łukęcin, there is a golf course designed primarily for beginners and families with children. It features nine holes of varying difficulty, 20 Driving Range stations, a Putting Green, and 18 mini-golf lanes. The course lies on flat terrain, accented by streams and small water features that add variety. For those seeking a break from golfing, the course includes a bar and a designated grill area.
For enthusiasts of golf’s etiquette and exclusive atmosphere or for professional players, the elite Amber Baltic Golf Club in Kołczewo, 12 km southwest of Dziwnów, is a must-visit. Spanning 66 hectares, it boasts the championship-class "Amber" golf course.
Międzyzdroje
While visiting Wolin Island, no one should miss Międzyzdroje, the most famous resort in Western Pomerania. The beach here is very wide, but it can still get crowded during the season. Fortunately, the town offers many interesting attractions, including a 300-meter-long pier, the Avenue of Stars (Promenada Gwiazd), and the Wax Museum. The surrounding area boasts excellent walking trails, especially those running through Wolin National Park, which borders the town to the east and south.
Świnoujście
Only 47 km separate Dziwnów from Świnoujście, located in the northwestern corner of Poland. This unique city spans 44 islands and lies right on the border with Germany.
Top attractions in Świnoujście include the Świnoujście Fortress, comprised of three forts on the islands of Wolin and Usedom, the breakwaters extending far into the sea, the tallest lighthouse on the Baltic coast, and the "Karsiborska Kępa" bird sanctuary managed by the Polish Society for the Protection of Birds on Karsibór Island. Another highlight is the "Karsiborskie Paprocie" nature reserve, located in the picturesque Świdny Forest.
